What We Offer

We are a community centre that offers quality early learning and care for tamariki aged four months to six years.
We are a mixed aged setting, licensed for 40 children including up to 8 under the age of two.
Our kaiako (teachers) are all qualified and registered.  Our teacher to child ratios exceed the recommended government regulations.

Play-Based Learning

We value uninterrupted play, so that children can learn and experiment at their own pace in a social setting.  We offer tamariki engaging experiences and use a range of teaching strategies that assist with social and emotional learning, early literacy and early mathematical development.

Safe Environment

We prioritise the safety and well-being of tamariki, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment for optimal growth and development.

Qualified Educators

100% of our teaching team are qualified. They are experienced and passionate about teaching young tamariki.

Our Philosophy

Community Nest is a welcoming, cosy, family focused early learning service within a close-knit community. The child ia at the heart of our centre, nurtured in the nest. Positive relationships are the foundation for everything. Connections enable us to be aware of and respond to emotions to keep each other safe.

We are all learners – we are all unique. Through taking time to be together, we are able to express ourselves, laugh, be inquisitive and show our resilience as we learn to fly. Believing in yourself and knowing that your contribution is valued is important to us.

Parental Involvement

We encourage parent participation and feedback to ensure a collaborative approach to each child’s learning journey.
